Project Background
Innovate Naija is a national initiative dedicated to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and technological advancement in Nigeria. The campaign aims to spotlight Nigerian innovators, connect them with resources, and amplify groundbreaking solutions that drive economic and social impact. To ensure widespread visibility and engagement, a strong public relations (PR) strategy is critical.
To support this effort, Innovate Naija seeks a qualified PR Consultant or Agency for a three-month engagement. The consultant will drive media relations, enhance public engagement, and boost the campaign’s visibility across Nigeria.
Scope of Work
The PR Consultant will be responsible for the following:
Strategic Communications Support
Develop a comprehensive PR and media engagement strategy aligned with the Innovate Naija campaign objectives.
Ensure messaging is compelling and effectively communicates the campaign’s impact.
Media Relations
Identify and engage media platforms, including traditional (TV, radio, newspapers) and digital channels, as well as outdoor advertising (e.g., billboards).
Secure media coverage for Innovate Naija through press releases, interviews, and feature articles.
Build and maintain relationships with key media contacts at the national and regional levels.
Organize and manage press briefings, media roundtables, and interviews.
Content Development
Draft, edit, and distribute press releases and media advisories.
Prepare key messages, interview questions, talking points, and FAQs for campaign representatives.
Contribute creative content for newsletters, reports, and digital media.
Event-Specific PR Support
Manage PR activities for Innovate Naija campaign events.
Oversee pre-event, live-event, and post-event publicity.
Secure media attendance and facilitate coverage for campaign events.
Reporting & Analysis
Provide detailed reports on PR activities, media coverage, and outcomes.
Measure and analyze the effectiveness of PR efforts using predefined KPIs.

Media placements, including feature articles and interviews
PR support for Innovate Naija campaign events
Reports detailing media coverage and PR performance
A final consultancy report summarizing achievements, challenges, and recommendations

Evaluation And Selection Criteria:
The applicants must ensure that all requested information/documents above are included in the submission. Proposals will be evaluated as followed:
Complete Conformity to RFP Submission Requirement (Pass or Fail)
Past work done (Pass or Fail)
Qualifications & Requirements (For individual Applicants)
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Proven experience in PR, corporate communications, or media relations.
Strong writing, editing, and content development skills across print, digital, and social media platforms.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in PR, communications, or media management, preferably in innovation, technology, or entrepreneurship sectors.
Proficiency in media tools and social media platforms.
Experience with photography, video production, or graphic design is a plus.
Creativity, tech-savviness, and strong networking skills.
Familiarity with SEO and relevant PR software.
Reporting & Supervision
The PR Consultant will report to the Senior Ecosystem Engagement Manager, the Strategic Communications & PR Manager, and the PR Associate, while closely collaborating with AfriLabs’ Communications Team.
Remuneration
Remuneration will be based on agreed deliverables and milestones, with payment terms outlined in the contract. Payment will be processed upon satisfactory completion of deliverables.
