The ONEPlanET project aims at empowering African policymakers, research & academia, investors and citizens with the necessary tools and know-how to increase clean energy generation and sustainable use of resources while reducing inequalities and cultural/socio-economic gaps.
Job Description
We are seeking a talented Photography and Videography Expert to capture and document our upcoming ONEPlanET Nairobi Hackathon event due to take place on the 10th -13th of March 2025 at Strathmore University, Nairobi Kenya. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in aiding the visual representation and documentation of our hackathon which brings together a diverse group of professionals, thought leaders, and experts. This is a unique opportunity to showcase your skills and creativity.
Scope of work: Photography
- Capture high-quality photographs throughout the event, ensuring excellent image quality, composition, and lighting.
- Provide real-time photos for social media updates, ensuring engaging and timely visual content.
- Capture key moments, including sessions, panel discussions, networking interactions, team collaborations, and behind-the-scenes highlights.
- Share all captured images for selection and approval.
- Edit selected images to enhance quality, maintain professional standards, and align with AfriLabs’ branding.
- Deliver a curated set of final, high-resolution images for event documentation and promotional purposes.
- Ensure all photography equipment is in working order and prepared for the event.
Scope of work: Videography
- Develop an announcement video to promote the hackathon ahead of the event.
- Record daily highlight videos capturing key moments for social media updates.
- Film key aspects of the hackathon and side events, including Panel discussions,
- Keynote presentations, Teams collaboration and pitches, Networking interactions, Behind-the-scenes moments & Participant and speaker interviews.
- Edit all video content to enhance quality, visual appeal, and professional standards.
- Create a 3–5-minute daily event highlight video summarizing the hackathon’s key moments, impact, and experiences.
- Ensure all videography equipment is in working order and prepared for the event.
- Provide highlight videos promptly to meet social media and event promotion deadlines.
- Collaborate with the event team to ensure comprehensive coverage while contributing creative ideas for capturing the event effectively.
- Address any unexpected production challenges that may arise during the event.
Qualifications and skills:
- Proven experience in event photography and videography, with strong portfolio
- Creativity and compelling visual storytelling skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and able to work independently or part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Flexibility to adapt to dynamic event environments.
- Ability to deliver high-quality, engaging visual content under tight deadlines.
- Experience in editing and post-production using industry-standard tools.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments and capture authentic moments.
- Understanding of social media engagement and real-time content creation.
- Experience covering tech, innovation, or hackathon-related events is an advantage.

Evaluation And Selection Criteria:
The applicants must ensure that all requested information/documents above are included in the submission. Proposals will be evaluated as followed:
- Complete Conformity to RFP Submission Requirement (Pass or Fail)
- Price Reasonableness (Pass or Fail)
- Past work done (Pass or Fail)
Duration and Remuneration:
Duration: 4 days (10th – 13th March, 2025).
Time: 9AM – 5PM (EAT) each day
Remuneration: $800 – $1,000 (Negotiable)
Reporting:
The Photography and Videography expert will report directly to the project coordinator and creative lead and work closely with other team members, providing regular updates on the progress of photography and videography activities and deliverables. A detailed content delivery plan will be made available upon selection.
Deadline for Application:
- Interested vendors should download the Vendor Information Form, fill, sign or stamp and submit it together with other documents.
